A-12 Serial Number 60-6932 (pictured) was lost in the South China Sea in June of 1968. CIA pilot, Jack Weeks was flying what was to be the last operational A-12 mission from Kadena Air Base on Okinawa. An in-flight emergency is noted as the cause and the pilot perished. Interestingly, the aircraft was purposely reported by US officials to have been an SR-71 that crashed.
