This ink stick was produced over 40 years ago. Older ink is usually considered better. Over time, the glue in ink undergoes hydrolysis, causing a reduction, and soot begins to aggregate. The ink, as a whole, becomes lighter, the stickiness of the glue decreases, resulting in a lighter brushstroke, and a rich depth of blackness emerges.
