Set of 4, 5 or 6 CBN sharpening stones, metal and combined(metal-resin) bonds, for curved blades,
Poltava plant of diamond tools,
150 х 12 х 7 x 3

Length:      150 mm = 6 inch
Width:        12 mm =  0,5 inch
CBN thickness: 3 mm = 0.12 inch
Blank thickness: 4 mm = = 0.16 inch
Total thickness:  7 mm = 0.28 inch

Trademark: Aldim. These next generation stones were developed on the basis of our experience in sharpening business:
- solid support plate (thicker aluminum blank: 4 mm vs competitors 3 mm);
- appropriate bonds (selected, depending on grain size)
- combination of long life, delicate sharpening, and excellent performance of combined (metal-resin) bond.

Appication: metal and combined (metal-resin) bond CBN sharpening stones for sharpening of curved (s-shaped) blades

Concentration 100%.
Flat  solid block on aluminum blank, grains are distributed evenly across the stone.

Material: CBN - cubic boron nitride. It has the best cost/productivity ratio for  processing of steels, comparing to diamond and cheaper stones, they are similar in qualities to Japanese wet stones, but have ten times longer working lifeCBN  is a generic name, there are also other names of this material, depending on manufacturer: borazon, elbor.

6.  5/3μ = 4000 = M4, combined (metal-resin) bond BP50 - polishing

Preparation
Stones in these sets do not require preparation and are ready to use out of the box, information below is just for consideration.
Stones with grits finer 3 microns either may require preparation (polishing) with SiC powders, or they will be self-polished after sharpening of 30-50 knives. Then they will be  of gold color and work well. The image below shows surface of 0.5/0 stone under microscope, before and after polishing with SiC powders.

Use and cleaning
Use any comfortable oil (baby, olive..) to prevent glazing. If glazed - clean with alcohol and toothbrush.

Maintenance is only needed every year or two.
In 1-2 years you may need to flatten stone:
-Metal bond stone: polish it with SiC powders (grain size selection list below), or use Ferric chloride (FeCl, video below):
  - 10 mins setting in 25% mixture (25 gr FeCl per 75 gr of water),
  - 10 mins polish movements (carefully draw "8") on glass plate.
-Combined and resin bond stones: polish them with SiC powders.

My listings of Poltava sharpening/honing stones (Length x Width x Abrasive Thickness, mm):

Diamond sharpening stones: not recommended for steels with high carbon content, but perform well with hard steels,  like CPM S90V.
CBN sharpening stones: standard for steels.
Combined bond: next generation bond, combines delicacy of resin bond on fine grains, and wear resistance of metal bonds on coarse grain sizes.
Sets: preselected stones to make your choice easier: metal and combined bond sharpening stones on blanks.
Pro 200% - professional stones with concentration 200% (standard stones are 100% concentration), which means higher productivity and longer tools life.
Economy: cost saving solution for most sharpening applications.
"Pro" and "Economy" are the only nicknames I use for stones and I suppose its clear why. No pathetic nicknames and brands. Just product as it should be, from trusted Poltava seller.
