This is a Japanese traditional samue that uses 4oz denim fabric recommended for
spring to autumn. A casual type recommended for everyday wear. It has a soft
finish without the stiff feeling of denim pants, so it feels very nice to the
touch and goes well with sneakers.

* Pockets are on the left side of the jacket and both side pockets on the pants.

Samue is the work clothing of Japanese Zen Buddhist monks, worn when engaged in samu.

Made from cotton or linen and traditionally dyed brown or indigo to distinguish
them from formal vestments, samue are worn by monks of most Japanese Buddhist
traditions performing labour duty such as temple maintenance and field work.

In modern times they have become popular as general casual or work wear. Shakuhachi
players today, because of the instruments historical association with Zen
Buddhism, sometimes wear samue.

Samue are often worn by many farmers, and home owners when performing general
landscaping and gardening tasks as well.
