These are rare Gujo Nagura. Stones that were mined in Gujo City, Gifu Pref.
It is said that the mine was closed in 1940s, so it is rarely seen in Japan. Gujo Nagura is said to have been mined by a farmer in Gifu prefecture as a side business before it started to snow in winter, and was molded and sold during the winter when agriculture was not possible. It is said that the number of mined areas is smaller than that of Mikawa.
